Anti-aging Satin Pillowcases for Hair, Skin & Lashes

High Altitude Style in Switzerland

I regrettably missed the Golden Globes Sunday, but as we reached 10,000 ft in Zermatt, Switzerland my face was a frozen as some of Hollywood’s leading ladies. And I kinda liked it. Of course, then you take a ‘snowfie’ (a ‘selfie’ on fresh powder) and look like a puffy Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer with a bad Ray-Ban tan. Delete.

The highlight of the weekend was having fondue for the first time in the adorable Swiss village of Zermatt and seeing The Matterhorn. Formerly known as one of my favorite rides at Disneyland; I couldn’t believe how big it is in ‘real life.’ I bundled up in a shapeless ivory sweater, skinny jeans and added some sub-zero accessories because comfort is king in the Swiss Alps. And this winter I’ve been re-introduced to some furry little friends that haven’t seen the inside of my closet in nearly a decade…

<DETAILS by Dale> boots – UGG Australia Classic Tall in Chestnut, sweater & gloves – H&M, denim – Lotus Premium Denim – flask plus all Swiss Inspired Must-Haves below

I’ve been having college flashbacks this winter when I got a pair of UGG boots for xmas (thanks Mom) and have been wearing them non-stop in Switzerland. I was first introduced to UGG boots a decade ago seeing pics of celebs in Santa Monica wearing them on the beach turning them into a bit of a fashion no-no for me. But I have to admit if you live in a climate that requires you to scrape ice off your windshield – UGG’S are a must-have. They’re like a warm little hug for my feet all day.  What do you think about UGG’s? A Fashion Do or Don’t?

  1. Amazing views, that would be so cool to look out over 🙂 x

  2. You look gorgeous! What did you think of fondue? I hate it but then I am not a great lover of cheese (whereas my Hubs loves it 😉
I do like the brand UGG, but have never bought a pair of the design made famous on the beaches (I saw the same in Spain 😉
But Uggs do some lovely designs that are so different from their most famous design.

    • Hi Vannessa – yes, I love Uggs and about the fondue, it was definitely really really strong. I liked it for a few pieces and then it was too heavy for me. 🙂

  3. Dale, these pics are spectacular. What a view! Takes your breath away. The way you’re wearing the UGG’s looks great. Some people don’t do the same. You didn’t miss much with the Golden Globes. I would rather be where you are than looking at that.HAHAHA Much more an adventure.

  4. I love the Swiss snowfie–very chic!

  5. Hi Dale-What a spectacular spot your are in. Love this photo! It was 77 here in Chico today so I’m not feeling the snow but when we had our place at Tahoe it was Uggs all the way for warmth and comfort.
Have fun (still loving my savvy sleeper-so soft;)
    xx from Chico,

  6. The outfit is really adorable, I love it. The pictures of the mountains are incredible… now I want to go to Switzerland too <3

  7. Great pictures! It looks amazing! 🙂

  8. looks like a fun time. i so dislike Uggs.. I’ve tried.. really I have, but they look cute on you 🙂

  9. I love this sweater! I have the same one and I would wear it all the time it’s so cozy!

  10. What a gorgeous backdrop and I love that first picture of you! I haven’t seen enough of Switzerland and would love to ski there some day.
The Uggs definitely suit the climate and your look. I never got why celebs loved to wear them in LA either!

Wow it’s so beautiful there!! The Matterhorn was my favorite ride too 🙂

I think UGG’s are ok for casual wear. I have an off brand that I wear around the house and to take Mr. Chow out when it’s cold, and on the occasional lazy trip to the grocery store 🙂 There’s not super stylish in these scenarios, but when I’m cold I don’t care, ha!

  12. Gorgeous Dale! What an absolutely breathtaking view. I can’t imagine seeing the Matterhorn “in person” 😉 Love the sweater! Hope you are staying warm!

(my girlfriend just ordered one of your satin pillowcases!)

  13. Great look and I love your hair here! It looks like you had an amazing weekend, as usual! I don’t wear Uggs because I’ve heard some brutal stories of how they are made, but I do enjoy similar styles that use faux materials. I just wear them around the house, though. It doesn’t get that cold in Georgia!

  14. Dale,
What a fantastic adventure! I’d love to see the Matterhorn and add in fondue= heaven!! You look so chic, which I never do at the snow. I finally caved and decided I was doing Uggs this year after also never loving them. I just didn’t want to be cold anymore. I found Emus which are also from Australia. Only dif is they zip up. The sheering is so warm, I don’t care what anyone says, I couldn’t live without them now. In Switzerland they must be essential!

I have to tell you last night was my trial run with my sleeper and I couldn’t believe my face. I sleep on my right very hard and always wake with a huge crease under my eye. This morning nothing!! I kept checking the mirror. Good hair too. I’m in love!! Just wish I got on board sooner. Thanks so much and am going to share about it of course !

    Have a good weekend!

    xx Kim

    • Hi Kim! Wow – so good to hear about the Savvy Sleepers and it’s a good testimonial especially if you’re a hard sleeper. 🙂 Also – I love the Emmu’s too – I think I had a pair of them before. 🙂

  15. Wow, nice looks!

  16. Wow great views and pictures, perfect outfit 🙂

  17. Wow what incredible photos! Looks like an amazing trip.

My husband brought me back some Uggs from a trip to Australia last year and I wear them like slippers all winter long. They keep my feet toasty, especially good because this winter has been one of worst I can remember.

  18. It’s okay. I missed the Golden Globes as well, but thank goodness we can stream re-runs nowadays. Your cable sweater is really lovely. I love the crispy white on you. Thanks for sharing.

Also, thanks for the lovely card from Savvy Sleepers. We love, love the satin pillow cover. Truly one of the best ones we’ve used.

    Have a great day!

    • Hi Girlie! You’re welcome for the card and I’m so glad you love your Savvy Sleeper. 🙂 And yes – so glad for streaming and re-runs now to catch all the shows.

  19. You look beautiful. And wow those views are simply stunning. As for UGGS? At the beach a definite know but in snowy cold temps I think they can be perfectly appropriate.
