Life in Switzerland

‘How’s married life?’ It’s funny how often you’re asked that once you walk down the aisle. No one used to ask ‘So how’s single life?’  Life in Switzerland is much different than San Francisco. In the words of Robin Thicke, ‘it’s tried to domesticate‘ me, and I like it. I’m preparing food and beverages on a regular basis now compared to microwave Trader Joe’s enchilada days.

Swiss ‘country life’ is also taken to a whole new ‘Little House on the Prairie‘ level. Like this Vine I snapped above of a ‘drive through dairy.’ The sign says ‘Milk Machine – Day and Night.’ If only there was a Sprinkles cupcake vending machine beside it.

Coming this week ~ Labor Day Weekend in Munich, skin care must haves ‘for him,’ and fall leather trends you’ll want. Hope you had a nice 3-day weekend! ~xoDale

  1. Just wait, once they are over “How’s married life?” It will be “When’s the baby?” Then “When’s the next?”

  2. That milk machine is cool! I agree about the cupcake vending machine, or maybe giant chocolate chip cookies? I’ve been married almost four years and I still get the “how’s married life?” question on a regular basis. You’ll probably be getting it for a while since that’s the newest thing in your life, a change like marriage gives people you talk to something to ask and kick-start a conversation with you. Glad you are settling into Swiss living!

  3. Yup, you’ll definitely getting ‘when are you having kids?’ next! 🙂

I love Switzerland, I’m so jealous that you get to live there, and coming from SF as well?! How are you finding the food over there?

    Hmm maybe…

  4. I bet it is an adjustment Dale. You’re in an entirely different country. If you need anything, let me know so I can send it to you 🙂 That milk machine is funny.

  5. Cute, cute, cute, cute, cute, cute………….

  6. Great Vine video–and, I gotta say I do adore Robin Thicke’s latest tune, too! xo T.

  7. What a culture shock! I always get asked “how are you and jesse?” as a “single” person. There will always be some annoying question people ask when they don’t know what to talk about.

  8. I’m glad you are having a great time in Switzerland and loving your new life. Drive through dairy sounds interesting. I remember being asked that “how’s married life”question and I think it went on for more than a year. The baby questions will be next. Hope you have loads of fun experimenting in the kitchen 🙂

  9. The beauty of life is that it keeps changing and with the changes come new adventures and meals!
