White Denim in Dallas with a Slice of Blueberry Pie (In a Jar!)

Let’s talk desserts. Are you a pie or a cake person? I’m not much of a foodie, unless it comes to sweets and then I’ll try anything. After the death of Anthony Bourdain last Friday, I saw one of his quotes circulating on Instagram as a tribute to his brilliance. ‘If I’m an advocate for anything, it’s to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. Walk in someone else’s shoes or at least eat their food. It’s a plus for everybody.’ – Anthony Bourdain

If you’ve never been to Dallas, you may want to plan a long weekend just to see a new city, and especially to enjoy the food. I’ve decided that DFW has some of the world’s best steakhouses, Mexican restaurants, BBQ and desserts!  This weekend, I stopped by a press event for a new Pop-Up shop in Victory Park called Kessler Pie Co. They serve pies like you’re used to, but also a specialty pie in a jar! Ready for a slice? Let’s go…

The Scene – New Kessler Pie Co. Pop-Up Shop in Victory Park

Friday Night Style – White Denim with a toddler and baby in a pie shop might seem like a disaster waiting to happen, but I took the risk and paired my fave white jeans with a top I just bought by bargain friendly brand called Lily White, tan wedges and new extensions from Sally Beauty Supply.

About Kessler Pie Co. – I actually met the creator of this pie company at the Next Seed Female Founders event last month in Dallas. She was in a ‘Shark Tank’ style competition and won this location FREE to have a pop up shop this summer. Congrats again and you can also visit their flagship location at 418 N. Tyler St. in Dallas.

The Pie in a Jar! – With father’s day approaching, I have to mention that my dad LOVES to bake pies. Apple, blackberry, raspberry – he’s quite the pie maker so while I’m used to that fresh baked taste out of the oven, Kessler Pie Co. has created something unique and different. It’s like a very sweet parfait and the fruit itself has some preservatives so it can last a couple weeks. The bottom layer of crust was delicious. I tried the Blue Magic when I got home that night which is a rich blueberry flavor.

Kessler Pie Co also makes traditional pies and multiple sizes of pies in a jar perfect for celebrating Father’s Day if you’re local.

Secret Drake Wall – Don’t forget to take a peek at the Popup shop’s secret ‘Drake Wall’ behind the check-out stand that has pie crust pics saying ‘I Only Luv my Bed and my Mama’. It’s the perfect spot to take a fun, filtered, selfie and add a pie emoji. After a failed boomerang attempt, as my hair was being pulled and my 3-year-old on the brink of a headband meltdown, we snapped this pic and called it a night!

Victory Park, Dallas Update- The Kessler Pie Pop Up is officially open and there are about 5 new venues and restaurants about to open just down the street. Style Sidenote: Dallas loves white demin! Some of my past date nights in white jeans include this tweed top in a Chanel look for less

<DETAILS by Dale> top (recent) – Lily White / Savvy Scrunchie – Vintage Rosé NEW! by Savvy Sleepers / Versace Collection wedges (last seen here) / jeans (old) – Dolce & Gabanna (last seen here in France) / belt – Hermes / Fit Bit
