Floppy Disk Friday! 90s Street Style and the Internet Cafe

Dallas-Oak-Cliff-Internet-Cafe

It’s Flashback Floppy Disk Friday! Remember those little things? We stopped by for a mommy-and-me (mostly for me) coffee break last weekend at a retro internet cafe in Dallas that will definitely dial up some 90’s vibes for you. Speaking of flashbacks, during a conference I attended last week in Atlanta, we had the chance to take a scenic drive to the Cabbage Patch Kids headquarters! Even snapping this pic in a huge plush cabbage chair and adopting a doll. It is a must-see if you’re a Cabbage Patch superfan or have kids and will be visiting Georgia! Now back to the coffee break.

The past few months I’ve been sticking to my new mom ‘all black’ outfits wearing this cropped 90’s style jacket I’ve had in my closet for years, after (not gonna lie) seeing a post-Stormi Kylie Jenner sporting one a few weeks ago. Then it was a faux fur vest for the baby, as Mina insisted on wearing her dance class attire sans pullover. It was 70 degrees and there was no way I was arguing with a 2-year-old in a hot pink tutu about putting on her cardigan. From floppy disk coasters to old school desktop decor, it’s coffee time…

Internet-Cafe-2

The Scene Internet Cafe Two in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas. It opened a couple months ago by the same owners of Emporium Pies. It was a basic, in a good way, and a fun departure from Starbucks for a Saturday morning cup of joe.

You’ve Got Caffeine The tiny coffee shop sits on a quiet street with good coffee and a quirky vibe. The barista mentioned they have pop-tarts made from pie dough used for Emporium Pies (a must-see if you’re in Dallas). I expected it to be a bit more poppin’ with 90’s music, but it’s definitely worth a stop if you’re in Oak Cliff or the Bishop Arts neighborhood.

Speaking of 90’s Styles – From floral print dresses, distressed denim and cropped jackets, keep an eye out this Spring for ‘Saved by the Bell‘ inspired styles.

Sleep Mode – Coffee breaks are a mom’s best friend. PS – Don’t forget about Daylight Savings this weekend!

  1. Baby Charlotte looks just like Dad! Please tell Mina I love her tutu, she’s getting so big <3

  2. Dale, I can’t believe how big the girls are! Time flies doesn’t it? You look chic as ever. No frumpy mama gear for you. I love the jacket and the black jeans and the sneakers. Great look that is practical yet very hip. This cafe looks like a fun idea. Wish we had more independent coffee places here. I know what you mean about a change from Starbucks!

    xx Kim
