Dallas is in full on winter-mode this week so outdoor patio plans will be pushed until March for now. I’m having Swiss life winter flashbacks this week in Dallas dodging freezing cold temps and puddles with a baby and toddler on each hip trying to grocery shop. Ice rain…not a fan. If you’re local and looking to brave the rainy conditions this weekend, you have to check out the chillest new spot in Dallas – the newly renovated Statler Hotel!
We had the chance to check out the new digs last month when my in-laws were visiting decked out in my Dallas winter style. And speaking of in-laws, my father-in-law (aka on insta @SavvySenior), will be sharing his go-to style men’s style secrets in future posts. If you’re ever in a room with him, chances are you won’t be overdressed. His style is timeless, and also edgy. He was stopped and complimented too many times to count during their stay in Dallas sporting this leopard print coat. Ok, happy Friday! Let’s bundle up and head to The Statler…
The Scene – The Statler Hotel (downtown Dallas) Sidenote: The Statler Grand Opening is next week Feb. 27-Mar. 2nd, check out multiple event details here.
What is your winter style? I wore a crisp white collared shirt and camel overcoat last worn in Zurich. Plus a pair of Zara heels I’ve hung on to since one of my first posts showing how to create fashion blogger Atlantic-Pacific’s Creme de la Creme shirt look-for-less in San Francisco.
Meghan Markle Messy Bun Inspiration – Prince Harry’s fiance was getting a bit of backlash a few weeks ago saying her messy bun was breaking ‘royal protocol,’ but I loved the look! To make my hair fuller, I added a few clip in extensions and then wrapped my hair in a low pony and used a few bobby pins to create the low maintenance bun.
Savvy Senior Style – My father-in-law, Marek, is a men’s style expert. From bow ties, to suits in every shade, and the classic brands he wears including Hugo Boss and Dolce & Gabbana. He is also an artist with his paintings featured in international publications including the Expat Magazine. More of his men’s style tips coming this year and follow him @SavvySenior on instagram for travel, art and style pics around the world.
And when he wasn’t on style watch at The Statler, he was on baby duty.
<DETAILS by Dale> white blouse – Versace, faux leather leggings – Zara, heels (old) – Zara, bag – Louis Vuitton (last seen here) / jacket – (old) Cinzia Rocca from Switzerland/ Savvy Senior in Hugo Boss
Hope you have a great weekend! If you’re local in Dallas, definitely check out the grand opening events at The Statler all next week.
~xo,
Danke Dale, Du bist die liebste Schwigertochter und Mama von meinen liebsten Enkelinnen ❤️❤️❤️
Danke Marek! 🙂
Your FIL is dapper indeed! Hahaha love it. I have no idea what ice-rain feels like but I bet it’s better than a scorching hot sun!

Thanks Sonia! And you’re right, in the middle of summer here in Dallas I’m sure I’ll be missing that ice-rain. 😉
Your family and in-laws have such beautiful style! I miss my camel overcoat now (left it in NYC!)
Yes, they’re great. 🙂 Thanks and I hope you get your camel overcoat back from NYC. 🙂 xo
Dale, How beautiful you and your father-in-law both look in the surroundings of that pretty hotel! Gee he has great style. I love that his name is Marek. That is my mother’s maiden name. Is he by chance Czech? That is where our Marek name comes from. My grandfather came here as a boy. Have to say I love the camel coat. It never gets old and the messy bun is so cute. I love Megan and her style. Kate is great, but sometimes too perfect. Now if I only knew how to do the hair clip ons.. I might try that! I will follow Marek! Working on a post on men’s style in Silicon Valley and will tell my friend Paul about him too! xx
