Scarlet Fever

SS 041114 Red COVER

Red is such an interesting color to correlate with emotion, because it’s on both ends of the spectrum. On one end you have happiness, falling in love, infatuation with someone, passion, all that. On the other end, you’ve got obsession, jealousy, danger, fear, anger and frustration.’ ~Taylor Swift.

Leave it to Taylor to bring some over-the-top drama to one of my go-to primary colors. Although the truth is ‘red‘ is one of those romantic, enticing colors that can be worn in small doses with any casual outfit – even for women I’ve heard  say ‘I can’t wear red.’ I caught a bit of the scarlet fever a couple weeks ago and here’s a few of my favorite simple ways to add pops of red to any Spring look…

I haven’t found the right shade of red for a lipstick for me, I stick to corals but this red looks really amazing on you… anything does, you are very pretty :) (I love the shoes, I want a pair)

  7. I love a tiny pop of red! You look wonderful. For me, my red lipstick is a very dark rose. With my pale skin it ends up looking red. Hope we get to see you on your visit here. xoJennifer

  8. Lesllie from Around The Table says:

Omgosh… love this outfit and those LB heels.. just that little bit of red:) gorgeous! The juxtapose of this out fit makes it so appealing and you can wear this combination at any age. I WISH I could wear the deep red lipsticks but they just don’t work for me. I always have to tone them down.

My new site is up and I put you up. Not sure if anything is working yet but we are getting closer!

I love a great red lipstick. A few years ago I didn’t care very much for the color red but my opinion has taken a complete 180. That top is so pretty.

Totally love your touches of redness on lippie and heels! =D
Red lipsticks are definitely a ‘Do’ for me. I love Chanel’s red lipstick and I’ve recently purchase one from Giorgio Armani too. They’re irresistible. I can do minimal makeup and just apply a layer of red lipstick and I find myself drawn to the outstanding lips already =D

Love the red lipstick on you! I’ve heard so many people swear by Russian Red, but I’ve never tried it. My lips are naturally really red, so I usually shy more toward pink or nude shades to switch things up.
