When you think of Vegas or any city known for it’s glitz, glam and super late nights; pulling yourself together for an 11 am meeting might not be such a simple task. But as Katy Perry would say, ‘That’s what you get for waking up in Vegas.’ Of course, now I take a better care of myself compared to my 22-year-old Vegas days. Goodbye Redbull Vodkas at 2 am; hello ultra-hydrating eye cream at midnight.
During our two day trip to Vegas last week, besides ballin’ on a budget; here are some styling and daytime beauty must-haves in Sin City. Because even in Vegas, smoky eyes and sequin mini-skirts just don’t work in the middle of the afternoon…
The December Scene - Las Vegas at the luxury modern Vdara Hotel (highly recommended). I booked this panorama corner suite (only $139) and after Southwest roundtrip flights ($120 each), plus lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and a lil’ blackjack, you can see how Vegas excursions in the winter are a win-win deal.
What’s New In Vegas? - The ‘High Roller’ ferris wheel I’m looking at from the 48th floor will open Summer 2014. It will be the world’s largest ferris wheel. (Swiss Sidenote) For readers in Switzerland looking to do a Vegas trip, direct flights start this Spring through Edelweiss Airlines.
Daytime in Vegas ~ After applying my foundation and eye makeup, I always dust it with Makeup Forever High Definition Powder. It truly sets your makeup all day. (Makeup Tip) – Only apply a light coat all over your face with a kabuki brush. If you can see the powder on your skin; then it will show up white in photos like this.
Where to Shop (Or at least window shop) ~ We took a tour of The Shops at Crystals next to the Aria in the City Center. The bright, ultra-stylish luxury shopping mall is so new and clean, you might forget you’re in the center of the strip in Sin City.
I can’t believe New Year’s Eve is only a few days away. Where will you be ringing in the New Year? (PS – Britney Spears begins her residency at Planet Hollywood with her first show tonight.)
