Concrete Jungle

SS_092313_ConcreteJungle

Have you ever felt a bit caged by your typical every day routine? This is exactly why making little tweaks (especially now that fall is here) can be so inviting. A new workout, or a new show (if you’re not into Breaking Bad yet, start with Season 1 ASAP). How about Monday night candle lit dinners at home ‘just because,‘ dance classes or taking a stab at a new language? I’m in my third week of German courses here in Switzerland and while I’m having 1st grade flashbacks of afternoons in a ‘special reading group,’ I’m determined to learn.

Here’s a few of my favorite city style tricks to break out of the business-as-usual daily grrrind. Especially if your fall wardrobe is in limbo as cool evenings are on the horizon…

Russian Red after Work ~ Ditch the nude lip after the office and switch to a deep red lipstick like my favorite, Russian Red by MAC.

Take a Walk on the Wild Side ~ Leopard print, cheetah and tortoise shell heels are all work appropriate as long as they’re not over three inches.

Hot Prints for Fall ~ Designers kept Fall ’13 runway looks simple compared to past seasons. Patterns to look for are plaid, leopard, pinstripes and houndstooth. ~Glamour

Re-Wear Last Fall’s Basics ~ Black skinny pants and an old khaki blazer paired can be re-styled with an animal print top or clutch.

Are you looking forward to trying something new this fall whether it’s a trend or project?
