There should never be a fashion trend strictly limited to yacht owners, Paris Hilton in St. Tropez and guys like Donald Trump, right? So it makes sense ‘resort wear’ is mainstream nowadays! Yay!
What exactly is Resort Wear? ‘A specialized clothing style. Sometimes known as “cruise wear”, it was originally marketed by “upscale” stores and collections only to very affluent customers. More recently (and more importantly) designers, store buyers, and the media are viewing “resort wear” as a year-round clothing style and fashion season.’ ~Wikipedia So we can all sport ‘resort wear’ whenever we want which is what I attempted in Mallorca, Spain over the weekend for Easter. Here’s my top selections from accessories to sandals for him & her…
Accessorizing in Apricot ~ Try a necklace with color like teal and especially apricot this season. This one is similar by MANGO. Clutch (recent) H&M.
Live it Up ~ Resort wear should be comfortable and ‘flowy.’ Try a lightweight knit or tank like this one.
Espadrille wedge sandals new by MANGO
When In Doubt, Wear White ~ Eggshell, ivory, whatever off-white shade you prefer, pair it with white pants to complete a resort-wear ensemble.
In lieu of an attempted April Fool’s prank today, here’s a pic of a gutsy little goat we saw yesterday eating food out of tourists’ hands.
Finally, Resort Style for Him & Her ~ ‘Walking shorts, sandals, loafers, to ‘full-length maxi dresses for women’ and light dinner jackets for men. Resort wear is generally made cotton, silk, and denim. It’s lightweight and breathable and ‘easy to clean and look great without ironing or fuss.’
