Nautical, vertical, zig-zagged, horizontal or thicker than a stick of butter; however you slice it, bold stripes are a spring-DO. Navy and white stripes are classic, but throughout this spring I’ll feature all types.
This weekend after exploring Zurich on Saturday, we ventured into a wine-tasting event on a lake in Zug, Switzerland. Here’s a quick re-cap of a Sunday by the lake including nautical stripe style tips followed by some ‘real world’ reflections…
Bold Stripes for Spring 2013 ~ My nautical striped sweater is on the tame side of the fashion spectrum. Considered one of the most wearable trends this spring, try striped skirts, a head-to-toe striped jumpsuit or black and white like this outfit I just tweeted window shopping at Chanel.
Nautical Stripes for Her ~ I love accessorizing navy and white with gold. I just found this gold wicker clutch at H&M and then add any gold bracelets or a statement necklace.
Reflections by the Lake* ~ Have you heard of the new controversial book, ‘Lean In’, by Facebook’s COO Sheryl Sandberg? It’s her take on women in the workplace, how they’re not assertive and make mistakes negotiating. *Coming Wednesday~Having just quit my full-time job in January, I’ll share big mistakes I made before packing up my cube, hitting ‘Shut-Down’ and venturing into the scary world of self-employment.
Nautical Flashbacks ~ No stranger to stripes, in the past I’ve featured my sister styled in front of a big-rig truck showing how to mix a striped top with a floral skirt or Red, White & You.

That’s a gorgeous clutch! Thanks for sharing your tips (and the stunning scenery of your trip… Switzerland is gorgeous!). I’m definitely going to be in stripes, considering how fun they are. I think one of my friends is even better equipped for this trend than me, though, since her favorite ‘color’ is stripes. :p

Nautical are so easy to love don’t you think? Some say the horizontal lines are not to friendly to their body figures but to me, if you found one which fits you well, you definitely need to show it off! =D
