Have you noticed that black and white fashion is canvassed across stores worldwide right now? They come in stripes, spots, geometrics, plus prints including leopard and zebra patterns While fashion week in NYC right now is all about Fall & Winter 2013, for now it’s time to dress for the present.
While the simplicity of styling black and white seems easy enough; there’s still a bit of grey area. Here’s some tricks from a snowy evening here in Zurich showing some of my favorite black & white animal prints including this Zebra bracelet below…
1. Walk on the Wild Side ~ While mixing two different species of animal prints in one is a bit of a risk, concur your fashion fears in black & white. Especially accessories. This new Zebra bracelet c/o LuLu-Le.com is one of my new faves and it’s subtle enough for you to mix with any black and white pattern.
2. Tights Tone Down Winter Prints ~ If you’re wearing a black and white patterned dress or skirt, add black tights with black heels to complete the look.
3. Does an Entirely black & white outfit bore you? Feel free to add a pop of color. Some of my favorites include neon and any bright solid shades like this blue cable knit sweater on sale now at H&M.
Q. What do you call an outfit that is Black & White all over Head to Toe? A. Too Much. Mixtures of black and white patterns are splattered all over fashion mags, but too much of a good thing can look tacky. Black heels or platforms with black tights is the best way to create a sleek silhouette from the legs down.
Black & White Basics ~ Start with a statement piece in a B&W pattern and then keep the rest of the look in solids.
Also, Special thanks to two of my blogger friends FashBoulevard & A Very Sweet Blog who had a huge influence on me when I was looking at how to brand my blog because they both have such cute themes and just featured Savvy Sleepers in the past week. Thank you Anna & Kim!
