After a whirlwind 3 day trip to NYC, I’m on my way back to San Francisco. My sister and I attended the LuckyFABB blogger conference (something only fashion & beauty bloggers would care about) and and then saw the craziness and uber crowded cobble stone streets of the Meatpacking District during the highly anticipated Fashion’s Night Out where cities across the world celebrated fashion.
Here’s a quick rundown of the trip, Rachel Zoe, Lauren Conrad, fashion and more in a New York Minute….
The LuckyFABB all-day conference hosted by Lucky Magazine editors ended with a giftbag full of tons of goodies and I highly recommend any new blogger attend the next one (or watch online) next Spring in LA if you can.
Rachel Zoe in the Flesh ~ Rachel was very forthcoming about the struggles of making it as a stylist and that it took her more than 15 years. She said never feels overly confident or at the “TOP” eventhough she is. The petite super-stylist gave a quick preview of her new collection including the gold necklace she was wearing.
Rachel’s Solid Advice ~ She discussed how her fall line uses faux fur like this jacket which is one of my faves because she believes that is what is morally correct to do. She also made a point when asked for advice on ‘making it’ in the business to ‘always be nice to people and to never step on someone to try and get to the top.’
The Hills Flashback ~ Lauren Conrad who had her start on the Laguna Beach was interviewed about her Kohl’s clothing line and unfortunately the first part of the interview was painful. It was awkward and seemed as scripted as “The Hills.” Then, when the audience was able to ask her questions she opened up, she was quite charming and very-likable.
I met tons of bloggers and hung out with Cheryl of Oh To Be Muse (check out her newest post for more LuckyFABB coverage)
Mr. Funny ~ Designer Anna Sui who was interviewed by the popular Barney’s brand ambassador, Simon Doonan was one of my favorite segments of the conference. He’s hilarious. They even stirred up some controversy among the stylish crowd of women saying they “HATE” the bun hairstyle trend which most women in a hurry love.
What I Wore ~ This chevron print black and white Forever21 (it’s in stores, but I couldn’t find it being sold online) dress and my new favorite accessory ~ Michael Kors Runway gold logo watch

The Next Day…My First Psychic Reading ~ As I was walking out of a boutique I heard a woman smoking a cig on her porch say “Pssst, come here. My grandaughter wants to read your palms.” I’d never done this but thought, why not, “When in Romania” which is where they were from. So the 25-year-old sat down and studied my hands.
The reading: ‘I’m unsatisfied with my life, something significant will happen on Nov. 1st to me, and that my relationship past has been rough, but I have 2 soul mates.’ So, that’s exciting, wonder when I’ll meet my first? Have you ever had a psychic reading? PS. You can visit my psychic, Rose, at 326 West 47th St., NYC No appt. necessary
“Jody from the Block” ~ As we explored the city, my sister kept her eye out for basketball courts. She’s trying to collect pics of hoops from the around the country, but I couldn’t get that old “I’m just Jenny from the Block” JLO song out of my head.
Coming tomorrow….“Fashion’s Night out Coverage in the Meatpacking District” with street style and the craziness at the stores. Did you go out in your city?
