If you’re in the business of designing bridal couture, you know you’ve created something extraordinary when single ladies instantly re-envision their future fairytale wedding in one of your stunning hair accessories. This is exactly what Hermione Harbutt, famed UK wedding jewelry designer, has created with her handmade collections. Hermione’s one-of-a-kind jewelry was even worn to the Royal Wedding last year, and now she is formally introducing her new collection of Red Carpet Couture to the USA!
This week she invited me to assist her with styling two models wearing nearly 20 headpieces with an entire glam squad. Throughout the day of couture sparkles, I pictured female celebs who might wear the hair pieces on the red carpet as this collection catches Tinseltown’s attention. Her new collection couldn’t be more perfect for a night out, special event or your next birthday celebration.
Here’s a look at my Nikon pics of ‘Behind the Scenes” footage, modeling, and of course plenty of bling shots of Hermione Harbutt’s new collection…
Each model changed hairstyles, makeup and dresses depending on the head piece. This backless dress was by Suzanne Neville
The two pro models for the day (Heather & Geena from Look Modeling Agency). Watching the elaborate shoot, I felt like I was on the set of America’s Next Top Model at times (without Tyra yapping in the background)
Hermione Harbutt in the teal dress is the owner, designer and creator of the entire collection, while professional makeup artist Marsha Litvinova changed each look and lipstick to match the inspired look. All of the hair styles were created by Akiha Imazu.
I met both Marsha (makeup) & Akiha (hair) the day of the shoot, but I was amazed at their work and how fast they changed the models looks. I highly recommend them if you need hair or makeup in the Bay Area.
I could see so many Hollywood starlets wearing this gold design. The photoshoot was on an amazingly sunny day at The Villa in San Francisco where the reality show ‘Silicon Valley‘ is often filmed and the recent NY Times article took place about the new show
These dresses were all by TwoBirds and while they’re extremely popular as bridesmaid dresses, they can be worn for any occasion and made into over 10 styles
Shining Star ~ This was one of my favorites I could picture on Blake Lively or Kate Hudson
For a less dramatic look, there were thinner headpieces. I would definitely wear this to dinner or to an event. I could picture Nicole Richie wearing this, what about you?
Hermione Squared
Hermione Way who I’m styling for her reality show ‘Silicon Valley’ and is friends with Hermione Harbutt stopped by for an impromptu shoot. Not to confuse anyone, yes they’re both named Hermione and no, they were not named after the Harry Potter character. They were born a few years before that phenomenon. (Sidenote) You may recognize the style of this red dress by Beulah London is a designer Kate Middleton wears often
Then it was off to interviews for her ‘Silicon Valley’ so I helped her put her earrings in and she was on her way…
Are you Ready for some High Volume Drama?
Heather in classic black & white in a Stephanie Allin dress
Emerald Elegance ~ I could picture Mila Kunis or Jessica Alba wearing this piece
Red on the rooftop in classic black headpiece perfect for JLO perhaps
Lady Gaga in San Francisco?
I love this head/face piece, plus it would be perfect for any event when I didn’t get enough sleep the night before
And that’s a wrap… Amazing Photography by Dana Hartigay
Videographer and showcase ‘Behind the Scenes’ footage coming soon by Scott Hammel. Check out his site Scotterpop.com
Crew ~ Models, stylists, creator & producers, makeup, hair, videographer & even an impressive kraft services. What a team and I really appreciated the experience helping style on a shoot like this!
I rarely wear headbands anymore, but I’m definitely adding pieces of this collection to my wishlist for future events! Not to mention her bridal collection which is available now.
Have you ever worn a hair accessory for a special occasion?
Special LA Red Carpet Event Next Week!
Hermione Harbutt will be hosting a private champagne reception to showcase and celebrate the launch of Red Carpet Couture accessories at a top west Hollywood venue on July 25th. I seldom like to wear things on my head. The only thing I favor for hair styling is jewelled pins. I’m sure your job must be demanding but it seems like you are enjoying it and that’s a good thing =D

How exquisite these designs are! I always just thought I’d opt for a bridal veil but the idea of having something so intricate and beautiful a part of my day is certainly worth considering.

Hey Dale,
I’m actually wearing a head band in my current post. I really like all the ones pictured here, especially the Shining Star. You did a great job with the styling, and The Villa makes for an amazing backdrop for the shoot. I styled models for Phoenix Fashion Week and all the photo shoots they did for the event, and it’s crazy how fast makeup and hair can get things done when time is of the essence, lol.
P.S. Loved getting to meet you and your family the other day! <3
