The Kardashian assets you’ll notice a mile away (from the front) are their fluttering lashes and sultry smoky eyes. Reality show makeup ranges from Snookie, the Kardashians to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (which isn’t much of a range at all.) This weekend for the new Bravo! reality show ‘Silicon Valley,’ we decided to tone it down a smidge. After all, the show is about 7 fresh-faced entrepreneurs running their businesses (like Newspepper.com) while Bravo! captures ”the intertwining lives of the young professionals on the path to becoming Silicon Valley’s next great success stories.” ~Huffingtonpost.com
Sunday Afternoon Before & After~ The next day, there was no time for Hermione to write in her diary about whether it was a “good” or “bad” date.
She had an interview to get to, so I helped her get ready…
Saturday night, cast member Hermione Way, was getting ready for a date (and I had 30 minutes to help her get out the door before he arrived)…
‘What to Wear’ on a 1st Date?
Go with a sexy/classy combo! Black and neutral colors are popular “color” palettes in SF. While I’m a fan of bright colors, there is nothing more classic than a black & white date night ensemble. I had Hermione wear my favorite black leather shorts by Romeo & Juliet Couture, then added a sheer white top from H&M seen here, and a black fitted blazer (H&M) with 2 inch black pumps in case they’d be taking a stroll through the city or dancing. (5 inch heels can be a major buzz kill on a date in any city).
*1st Date Guy Tip ~ Always let her know where you’ll be going and error on the side of being a little over dressed. If you’re wearing a V-neck with jeans or a collared shirt, bring along a blazer just in case.
(The Next Day) Bravo! Behind the Scenes
Interview Time ~ You know the interview scenes in reality shows like Kim Kardashian reflecting on her ‘super stressful’ life or Snookie trying to recount the clubbing details of the night before? Yesterday, it was Hermione’s turn for her close-up interview. She wore a simple black dress and a gold statement necklace previously featured here. It’s only filmed from the waist up, so we didn’t have to worry about heels. Makeup Details below…

‘Natural Makeup vs Kardashian Makeup’
Sisterly Glam Makeover ~ Last Dec. I gave my sister (in this pic) a full smoky-eye, fake eyelash, eyeliner to the max makeover appropriate for a night out or a holiday party. Below, is the natural makeup which I applied first on my sister and this is the same look I used for Hermione yesterday…
Natural Makeup- Full list of makeup used and steps I used on my sister & Hermione Here
I like both styles depending on the occasion, but what do you prefer for “Going Out” makeup? Natural or Kardashian style?
~xoDale
(Sidenote) ~ Speaking of “Going Out,” if you’re in SF and would like to attend Hermione’s Silicon Valley “Startup Mansion Crawl” Birthday celebration this Saturday, there are a limited amount of tickets available HERE. Hope to see you there.

I love simple natural makeup. I would rather add a fun, bold lipstick than a smokey eye and falsies.
I go pretty simple for the day, but for evenings out I try do a smoky eye and a little bronzer. It’s a fine line between getting it right and looking like Kim or Snooki!! Your sister is gorgeous!
XO,
Jane
Very nice job on both girls.
Those leather shorts are SO fab. I like simple makeup but anything at all is dramatic on me, as I don’t wear any!
i love both! for going out its all bets off and its full out kardashian makeup
how cool is that. i love the more relaxed make-up so amazing.
love and hugs,
kaitgirl
natural-ish. i absolutely loatheeeee the super caked on kardashian style makeup.
Gorgeous hair and makeup I must say!

I really wish I lived in the SF area.. or in California for that matter so I could go to the party. lol maybe one day I will.
I love all types of makeup looks but sometimes a natural look is pretty refreshing to see since everyone nowadays always wear full-on makeup.

Nothing beats au natural in my opinion, its fresh and frankly youthful looking too, though I do like to go all out Kardashian style on certain special occasions too.
Have a wonderful week

Oh I need you to do my makeup Dale!! I love the natural makeup! I don’t tend to wear much dark eyeshadow as I always find it too heavy – though I do occasionally wear turquoises or greens as they seem to suit my skin tone!Gorgeous makeovers and great behind the scenes pics – the shoes are too funny!

I always go for natural make-up, regardless of whether I’m going to school or going out with friends. I just think it suits me best
I wish I could attend Hermione’s celebration, too bad I’m so far away.

Love the anti-K look!
Less is more and always blend well
This sounds really cool! Love these shots, you have a great blog! x
I tend to change it up. Right now Im feeling the more natural style with summer kissed skin. In the winter I feel pasty so I usually go more dramatic to make up for it!
Great blog and post. I like the natural better. That is my style when it comes to make-up.
Thank you for visiting my blog.
Daphne.
oh wow the makeup on your sister looks gorgeous! God what a beautiful family! I adore the black dress + gold necklace combo! super stunning

great make up and photos u look so gorgeous. i must say i love smoky make up for night time i can sometimes overdo it my sister tells me!! kisses from dublin xx leonie.
Hi Dale,
I like both, depending on the mood and the outfit. Looking professional is a must versus a sideshow at the carnival! I think the trick is good eyebrows, which is a must for the ladies and the shadow color to balance the eyes…
Great job! Wish I was in or near San Fran to join the party! Have a great time.
Hugs.
Lola
I’m loving both looks! Such a fun post!

I so agree with you! Neutral colors always look great and black & white is probably my all time favorite classic look. Amazing work and I love the makeup here too!
