Whether it’s a big bash or small intimate dinner, unless you’re spending your special day in your Birthday suit, you’ll need to find something to wear! Last Saturday was Hermione Way’s birthday celebration where Bravo! was also filming for her ‘Silicon Valley’ reality show so we had to find the perfect party dress.
After searching through my closet, I found a hot pink frilly, one shouldered BCBG party dress (showing skin, but not too much) and paired it will contrasting cobalt blue heels fitting for the warm summery evening occasion. Here’s a peak into the party and styling the birthday girl for her big night…
Party Styling Mission Complete ~ Hermione was ready to enter her big birthday bash
2 Hours Earlier…
The Production ~ Every time I get Hermione ready at her place, I pack up my cherry red carry-on suitcase full of hair products, makeup, heels, and little containers of jewelry so she has a variety of options.
The Birthday Girl Hair ~ My sister, Jody, helped curl all of her hair and then we added in some clip-in extensions once all of her real hair was curled
Glam Hair Trick ~ Often you will see celebrities going for the side swept hair. One trick to creating this look if you’re wearing extensions is to clip all of them on just one side of your head. That way you never have to worry about the clips showing and all of the volume is on the side you want.
Sparkly Details ~ We added a few rings & bangles to go with the frilly dress, but kept her nails neutral because throughout the week she is still attending business meetings. I also added shimmer lotion to her legs & arms.
The Birthday Celebration
The party started at her place and then we were all transported via trolley to the next ‘Start-Up’ house called ‘The Factory’ (My sister in yellow Calvin Klein dress, H&M clutch, Hermione in BCBG (old), me in BCBGMaxazria (old)
Tourist Tip ~ Eventhough I live in SF, this was only my second time on a trolley. If you’re visiting make sure you ride the cable cars.

The Facebook Movie 2.0? ~ There is a popular “Start-Up Mansion“ trend in SF & Silicon Valley now where entreprenuers are “living, sleeping, working and breathing startups in shared living spaces.” I didn’t really get it how it worked until I entered this house… (photo by ZatPhoto.com)
Top Secret Saturday Night~ Around 10 pm, I noticed this door in the hallway. You could not enter without a code eventhough I really wanted to peak in. However, once I walked around the corner to the livingroom, the room was fully exposed….
Smartie Alert ~ The room was full of entrepreneurs who live in the house behind a glass wall typing away, coding, working on projects I couldn’t even comprehend while the rest of their house was filled with people celebrating.
11 PM Saturday Night ~ We may have both been drinking Red Bull, but they were concentrating on a lot more important tasks. ;)
I Will ~ Every wall in the room we were in watching them was a black board from the floor to the ceiling with chalk so you could write your goals, aspirations or whatever you were thinking starting with “I Will”… What would you write?

Oh my gosh, You styled her so well! She seriously looks stunningly gorgeous. I really love how you added the cobalt blue shoes to the dress – it took the dress from ordinary to a whole other level!
Great work on her hair as well – she looks so fricken classy, and the part looks like it was a ton of fun! I’ve never heard of one of those houses before – but it seems like it must be difficult to ever leave work behind if you’re in your office 24/7, doesn’t it?
