The “Situation” may have abs and an act, but these performers have muscles everywhere plus actual talent you have to see to believe. The past few days I had the chance to see a couple Cirque du Soleil shows I’ll never forget.
Exactly a year ago the city of San Francisco was celebrating the Giants winning the World Series. But what’s the second best thing that could be going on at AT&T Park? Cirque du Soleil! It’s back now showing through December 18th with the new show “Totem” that is totally worth seeing.
I went a few nights ago on a chilly fall evening…
Although “Totem” is a traveling show, it’s one of the best I’ve ever seen.

I could barely contain my excitement
By day, the Giants stadium parking lot is home to the big circus tent. It doesn’t matter what section
you buy seats, you’re not too far from the stage.
At night it transforms into the Grand Chapiteau. This is the food and gift area, I couldn’t
take pics during the actual show
I wanted to share my new favorite updo for rainy cool evenings when I know my hair will get frizzy. I’ve seen celebs like JLO and Kourtney Kardashian wearing the high bun lately.
It needed more hairspray & time, but here’s how to do it in FIVE minutes:
1. Pull hair in a high ponytail
2. For volume, tease and back comb it until it’s poofy
3. Form and twist into a bun. Use bobby pins to keep hair in place
(See FoxyLocksExtensions high fashion messy bun tutorial here)
The next day I flew off to Vegas for business & a little fun
The view from the room at the Bellagio
But the water show at night is my favorite part
Later that night, my friend & I saw Cirque du Soleil “O”
Vegas dress – French Connection, Gold heels- Steve Madden
Clutch, ring and bracelets-Forever 21 Nail Polish -Slick Slate Insta-Dri by Sally Hansen
Back to “Totem”
I don’t want to give too much away, but this was one of the acts. You can see more here
There is a total of 779 costume pieces in the wardrobe for this show.
It’s good to be back after a Cirque du Soleil bender the past few days. Speaking of bending, if you’ve never seen a Cirque show, it’s unbelievable how the performers contort their bodies and “Totem” shows some skin. Tastefully, of course. (Think buff surfer guys doing stunts and women in bikini tops spinning 50ft in the air to name a few.)
Sidenote- Not only is Cirque fun for families, it’s so romantic with that special someone or a midweek date during the holiday season. And with the NBA lockout, there’s no reason not to go! Tell your guy he’ll still see an arena full of physical specimens that not only take it to the hoop, they jump through hoops of fire.
Do you like Cirque du Soleil?
If so, what was your favorite show?
Have a great week!
