Favorite Celeb Look of the Week

Emma Watson has been a show stopper on her “Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows” (Part 2) tour. I wish I was more excited about this movie, but sadly I’ve never seen a Harry Potter flick. In college, I lost a bet to my bf at the time and was forced to watch his favorite movie. I wasn’t allowed to read fashion mags or nap through it, and those 3+ hours watching “Lord of the Rings” were pure torture!

Since then, I never gave Harry Potter a chance until NOW.

So first, Emma’s week of fashion……

My favorite: Emma in Oscar de la Renta. She looks like a princess.

I’m not so sure I like this Bottega Veneta gown she wore in NYC , BUT
if anyone can pull off her pixie cut and this dress, it’s Emma

She looks adorable from head to toe in this Elie Saab couture dress
at a Harry Potter after party.
Finally, in a Rafael Lopez black dress with lace detail in London

After reading posts and hearing all the build up about this NEW movie, I want to go SEE it!
If you’re a fan, I need your advice.
Should I go see “Deathly Hallows” or wait and start with “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone?” OR should I read the books first?
Decisions..decisions…Have a great weekend! 🙂

    She is so stunning!! Wow.
DEFINITELY wait and start with the first movie. Or at least watch #7 part 1 before watching it or you’ll be so confused. But I’d say just start from the beginning 🙂

  2. i adore emma, and i say, start with the books, they are pure magic

  3. Jello! ♥ says:

    ahhhhh isn’t she pretty.

  4. Chick Flick Journal says:

wow she grew up. love her new style

  5. she was always so cute now she is just absolutely gorgeous! i loooove HP! start at one I am so sad to see it all come to an end…

  6. vanessa74 says:

she is getting more prettier every day….(is this right in english???)

  7. Alexis the Honey B says:

Im a HUGE harry potter NUT. Read the books first, then watch the movies starting with 1. Emma Watson is absolutely ethereal! Love the Oscar De La Renta in the first pic. She is stunning!

  8. ChaosButterfly says:

I love the Oscar de la Renta gown…the others, not that much. But she is really gorgeous…lmao, who knew that she would end up being this glamorous? She looked so rough in the first few movies.

About Harry Potter, I’d recommend reading the books because they are really great, but if you aren’t trying to be a hardcore Potthead, don’t bother yourself, because they are looong and time consuming. Just watch the movies, and definitely start from the first one or you won’t have any idea what’s going on in Deathly Hallows. It’s such a long and convoluted story.

P.S. I couldn’t stand LOTR either…fell asleep all five times I attempted to watch it.

  9. B.Inspired says:

I have to say…I haven’t seen ANY Harry Potter movies either! So…I can’t tell you if it is good or not, but my colleagues who did go last night were RAVING about it! Emma is gorgeous and she looks good in just about any gown on the red carpet! I’d be happy to add any of these to my wardrobe 😉

  10. r.alsharif says:

I’ve never watched or read harry potter anything 😛
I agree about the Bottega dress. It looks like a curtain wrapped around her waist :s

  11. Agreed 🙂 She’s a chic little lady!

  12. Lost.in.Idaho says:

#3 is best. Summery, sheer, and very chic.

I just recently hooked my gf into the Potter series. She watched the first 7 movies and is now devouring the books one by one. I suggest that route, since the movies are a truncated version of the books. If you read then watch, you’ll be saying “this is NOT like the book!”

  13. Fashion Cappuccino says:

As a die-hard Harry Potter fan (I’m also a Lord of the rings fan, come on, it’s a great movie :-), I recommend that you see the last movie! It will make you want to find out more about the story and read all the books. The plot is mesmerizing and although some of my friends unfairly criticized that it was written for 5 year olds, it’s actually very well-written and has intelligent characters.

I’m a fan of Emma Watson as well..she’s so poised and smart! Very classy in her outfit choices. I love Brit girls! Thank you so much for your comment on my blog and don’t forget to tell me how you like the movie! xoxoxoxoo

  14. Thanks for all the Potter advice! It’s making me want to definitely see the movies. I’ll read the books one at a time 🙂
@fashion cappuccino- I’ll definitely let u know how I like it and maybe I’ll have to give LOTR another try since that was a long time ago…hehe

  15. she’s awesome!

and unlike other guys, i think she looks great with short hair. 😀

and just go ahead and watch the movie; the point is to have a great time and not have to do a “book study” of the whole HP world. 😉

  16. What a fun blog! I found you blog hopping. Love supporting fellow Bay Area bloggers 🙂

  17. Emma is super cute and adorable! I love love her style, very chic and classic!

  18. My favorite look is the Elie Saab dress and reading all of the books would take a lot of your time and even though they are great I say you go see the movie!

  19. …and by the way, your boyfriend took the wrong approach in FORCING you to watch the lord of the rings; it’s an awesome world but even i sometimes cower at the epicness of the trilogy. 🙂

you should give the hobbit a read, it’s a delight to read, without giving you a sense of too much baggage, so to speak. 😀

  20. Emma looks stunning in everything. I agree with you though, the Oscar de la Renta one is the best. She does look like a magical princess.
    Beautiful post!

  21. Shannyn says:

i <3 emma watson! i really think she can pull off almost any outfit...heck, she can even pull of a pixie cut! not many people can pull a pixie cut off and look so chic!

  22. emma looks amazing! 🙂

ummm, i should say read the books first to ensure you’ll understand everything, but that would take quite some time. if you’re not up to it, starting with the first movie onwards is a good idea. i’m pretty sure hp7 part2 will be in theaters for weekssss so you’ll have enough time. 🙂

    <3, Mimi

  23. Dressy Celeb says:

The last two dresses are the best in my opinion! 🙂

New post on my blog: Lindsay Lohan!

  24. Stephanie says:

I love how she rocks the pixie cut…I’m jealous!

  25. Nic Nic says:

it would make more sense to watch the movies from the beginning. I tried reading but there’s too much to read so I’ve seen all the movies. know the plot will make it so much more easier to understand 😀 I’ve grown to love Emma Watson’s style. The first and last has gotta be my fave 😀

  26. City Girl says:

she is amazing even if i don’t really like the second dress since too extravagant for my taste..

  27. OMG, that Oscar de la Renta is to die for. My favourite in the bunch! She is gorgeous.
    Nice pics!

  28. Andrea Grace says:

Shes turning into a classic beauty!

  29. Vanessa@Luxuria says:

Like you Dale I’ve never seen a Harry Potter movie or read any of the books. But I just love how Emma Watson has literally crystallized into a gorgeous butterfly.

  30. Shutterbug says:

I happen to stumble on your blog! It’s fun!

Emma is such a fashionable girl! In response to your question, I would watch the other movies first before watching this last one. The movie would make the most sense.

and if you are ever bored, check out my blog: thingamajigblog.blogspot.com

  31. i completely agree, im still on the fence about her nyc look. i adore the others though. i think she looks far better when shes in less heavy materials and fabrics, along with more neutral makeup.

  32. Sabrina says:

That first dress is amazing. A tad unconventional, but there’s something uniquely appealing about it. It’s a toss up between her Elie Saab and Rafael Lopez look though.

  57. sharonlei says:

Emma Watson has definitely grown up. She is undeniably gorgeous!! I can’t wait to watch the last Harry Potter film. It will most def be bittersweet.

I suggest that if you want to watch the last film, you watch all the previous ones first. 🙂 I know that may seem like torture, but that would be the only way to understand the finale!

Hope you can make it to the theaters before the movie is gone. 😉

    xx Love & Aloha

  58. Bang and Buck says:

    dear lord, she is amazing…
