My LA Road Trip Featuring A Freak Show and Footsies Fetish

Last week I took a little road trip with my sister to LA and Orange County and met up with my cousin who flew in from Denver, Colorado. Of course, in between visiting with family and friends we squeezed in shopping and beach time.

Also, do you ever need a heel for a certain outfit or a costume, but don’t want to spend a lot? If so, I have the place in Southern California to satisfy all your shoe needs.

Me, My cousin Amanda and my sister Jody in Santa Monica

Venice Beach Boardwalk is a bit of a freak show in itself, but there’s also an ACTUAL Freak Show with two-headed turtles and a guy who lets you staple dollar bills to his body. For a $5 entry fee, I was highly entertained.

Street performance in Venice. A detailed sand Octopus below…

Feathers are EVERYWHERE. Are you wearing this trend?

My cousin trying on a feather headband.

There is a chain of shoe warehouses called Footsies in Orange County. We went to the one in Costa Mesa.
They sell the most inexpensive shoes I’ve ever seen/worn….

Beware! Some are ugly…

 AND others are trashy….

I mean SUPER Trashy! 🙂

BUT, If you search long enough……You CAN find cute ones!

TIPS TO SHOPPING at a shoe warehouse:

1. Eventhough you can get 6 pairs for $45, only buy ones you’ll wear at least twice.
2. Try on every pair you’re going to buy, take a lap around the store to make sure you can walk in them. I’ve
bought some of my least comfortable heels here in the past.

3. Try to look for shoes that look expensive and on trend for the season. My sister and I got 12 pairs of
heels, wedges and sandals for $96 total. Guilt free shopping is a really nice feeling.
I found a blush colored 5″ heel and 9 other pairs. I’ll make sure to note if they’re “Footsies” in future posts. 🙂

                                                         Red boat shoes-SODA $13

After our last day on the beach, it was time to say goodbye to So-Cal

This Lifeguard tower in Santa Monica brought back some Baywatch memories.

On the road again…driving back home to SF through central California

And I also wanted to announce the winner of the Crest 3-D Whitestrips chosen by Random.org….
The winner is Precious Ekama Henshaw! Congratulations!

I really appreciate everyone who entered and all the support on my blog so far. Thank You! 🙂
Hope you had a good weekend!
