Anti-aging Satin Pillowcases for Hair, Skin & Lashes

It’s Time to do Something NEW this Weekend

Are you tired of the same old routine on weekends? Maybe it’s a movie, clubbing, bar hopping, trying new restaurants, shopping, hanging out at home, but whatever it is may be getting old. Sorry to change the subject, but I went to bed last night with a cold and woke up this morning reading texts asking me if I was okay because there was a tsunami about to hit the West Coast. My first thought was, am I in some sort of Theraflu haze? But I flipped to the local news to see the Mayor of SF talking about tsunami warnings and sadly, the devastating videos of the aftermath from the huge earthquake in Japan. My thoughts and prayers are with anyone affected by the earthquake.

The purpose of this post is to motivate anyone who wants to get out of their normal weekend routine to try something new. For example last Friday, I went to the San Francisco Symphony. If you’ve never been, it’s so relaxing and lets you de-stress from the week.

Plus, it’s a chance to get dressed up and go out. So after work and a quick power nap I only had about 30 minutes to get ready. Ahhhhhh

I knew I wanted to wear my glittery Steve Madden pumps from DSW
I found this dress at Macy’s on the clearance rack in Dec., decided I should wear it at least once before Winter is over 🙂

I love Gold!!!!! 😉

My 2 Minute Up-Do- You can probably tell it didn’t take long, but it’s a really easy way to do your hair if you don’t have a lot of time.
1. Part your hair and take it half back and put a bobby in poofing it up.
2. Then just wrap the lower half of your hair up, twist it and add bobby pins and hairspray and your done.

Inside the Syphony Hall, they ring a little bell for people who are late and you can’t get in once it starts and have to wait outside until there’s a break.

The Symphony balcony with City Hall in the background

Outside the Syphony Hall there are some cute restaurants. I wanted to grab a bite and a cocktail before the performance but didn’t have time. A handfull of Goldfish crackers and a Crown & Coke did the trick.

If you’re not into the symphony, try a musical, the Opera or Cirque Du Soleil. My favorite! Let me know of any ideas you have for something new. But no skydiving, I’m scared of heights. 🙂

Enjoy your weekend!

Update 3/14/11-I was glued to the news this weekend and the footage and reports in Japan continue to get worse. It’s so sad. For anyone looking to donate, I know there are many organizations out there helping, here are a couple: www.savethechildren.org or www.redcross.org
